Global Partnership for Peace: Holocaust Survivors in Jerusalem Hosted Singapore’s Asia-Pacific Team

On November 27th, about 200 Holocaust survivors from Jerusalem took part in a special international event of the global organization Helping Hand, in the presence of representatives of the Singapore Asia-Pacific Team, which aims to strengthen the connection between Asia and Israel. Together with friends from Singapore, Holocaust survivors enjoyed a quality lunch at the Grand Court Hotel in Jerusalem, had long conversations, received gifts from the organization, and ended the event with dancing and singing from the choir, all of whose members are Holocaust survivors. Singapore’s Asia-Pacific Team, founded by lawyer Albert Tan, travels to Israel every year for special events like this to promote a partnership between the two states. Together with lawyer Tan, this initiative is led by Charles and Jenny Chao from China, who have set themselves the goal of spreading the truth about Israel and the history of Holocaust survivors in all parts of Asia. “So we can achieve world peace, which will lead to global development in all areas,” Chao said and added, “We pray for the people of Israel, prosperity and world peace.” Members of the Jerusalem Association of Holocaust Survivors enjoyed the exciting event, hospitality, and attention to them. One guest from Singapore shared: “We are visiting Israel for the first time since the start of the pandemic in the world. Although we do not speak Russian or Hebrew, sometimes we just need to see the smiles of Holocaust survivors and know that they feel that we support them.” Yakov Lieberman, chairman of the association, concluded: “We are very pleased that the Helping Hand organization invited us to this special event, and we look forward to participating in other events of this kind.”
