About Us

The Jerusalem Society for Holocaust Survivors was founded in July 2019 to improve the quality of life of Holocaust survivors from post-Soviet states in Israel. It’s a non-profit organization supported only by donations. We are providing psychological help to Holocaust survivors, organizing public events, and working to promote social and political action for the wealth of Holocaust survivors. Also, the association distributes stories of heroism of the Holocaust in the Soviet Union and connects Holocaust survivors to alleviate loneliness. We are the biggest Jerusalem community with more than 1,000 active members. The average age of our members is 87.

Since our launch, we have worked tirelessly to promote our cause.
We don’t measure our success through just facts and figures, but through happy faces and heartwarming feedback.

The Chairman of the Association

Yakov Liberman

Born in 1937, Yakov is full of energy and desire to give and do good. "We established the Society of Holocaust survivors for Holocaust survivors because nobody else helped us. Today there are more than 1000 active members, whose average age is 88. We have members that were born in 1917, that are 106 years old. We are trying to brighten up their last years of life, and encourage others to do so."
